- Some scientists at Stanford recently conducted an experiment. They
- wanted to see how well a man might function with parts of his brain
- removed.
-
- They asked for volunteers from California's death row inmates. They
- chose one man who had an IQ of 155.
-
- The first experiment involved the removal of 10% of the cerebral
- cortex. Afterward they asked him to count to ten. He replied "one,
- two, three, four, five" etc. to ten.
-
- Next they removed another 20% of the CC and repeated the request to
- count to ten. "One, two, three, four" and so on to ten.
-
- The scientists then decided to remove the remainder of his brain. After
- he regained consciousness they asked him to count to ten. He replied,
- "Uno, dos, tres, quatro....."
-
- OB laugh...har...har
