  15.      My grade in ___________________________ should be raised from __________

  18.  1.  There must be a mistake somewhere.
  19.  2.  I was not well at the time of the examination.
  20.  3.  My mind always goes blank during an examination.
  21.  4.  This mark ruined my prospect of getting a scholarship.
  22.  5.  This is the only course in which I received a poor grade
  23.  6.  This mark greived my mother (or Father). whose pride I am.
  24.  7.  Conditons in the room were not conductive to concentration.
  25.  8.  The examination was unfair and unfairly distributed over the subjec
  26.  9.  I have to work after school and nights; therefore I should be given
  27.      a break.
  28.  10. I am married; therefore, I should be given a break.
  29.  11. I would have done much better if I had taken the examination give t
  30.      one of the other sections.
  31.  12. Several people around me copied from my paper during the examinatio
  32.      yet they received higher marks than I did. Surely this is not fair.
  33.  13. The reason I did not do better is because I am very honest. I do no
  34.      wish to say anything against any other members of the class.
  35.  14. I know many of the class members who do not work as hard as I do an
  36.      who got a better grade. I am recognized among my classmates as a
  37.      good student - you just ask any one of them.
  38.  15. The question were ambiguous, and therefore, my answers should be
  39.      graded according to the reasonable interpretations that I made of
  40.      your questions.
  41.  16. Many of the questions could not be answered with straight facts;
  42.      they were matters of opinion. I do not believe I should be penalize
  43.      just because my opinions differ from those of the instructor.
  44.  17. I have studied this subject from the broad philosophical viewpoint
  45.      and therefore, I was unable to answer your technical-based question
  46.  18. I am philosophically oriented to the realm of ideas; I respond to
  47.      the sweep and scope of great intelects. My work is beyond the
  48.      interest in petty details and parrot-like memorizing of those who
  49.      are merely students
  50.  19. At the time of the exzm i was suffering from a severe case of
  51.      cognitive dissonance and was incapable of coping with the stress
  52.      of the hour.
  53.  20. It is not a higher mark I seek; I care nothing about marks; I think
  54.      marks are wicked and I dasapprove of them. However, this pernicious
  55.      system of which I am a victim requires marks for achieving success
  56.      and therefore, I seek a higher mark.
