- Purely off the top of my head, I wouldn't apply it to lozengy &
- chequey. The color/metal distinction is for contrast. You would
- have to pick your colors very carefully for someone more than 10
- feet away to be able to tell that the field was lozengy. If you
- always had control over the actual shade used in depicting it,
- then you could have lozengy of, say, purpure and azure that would
- be definitely purpure and azure and lozengy from a distance.
- Most heraldry isn't set up that way (that you can select the actual
- shade of color used).......
