- Think of the Davis, Jennings, and related handguns as a liability
- lawyer's best friend. Guns & Ammo, whenever they cover these
- sleazy little chunks of pot metal, says not to carry them with a
- round chambered. Usually, they claim it's because the small
- internal parts of a small semiauto are more prone to wear, and
- thus more likely to suffer a failure. I think it's because they
- know that guns produced by Davis, Jennings, etc., are garbage, and
- if the safeties work, it's partly a matter of luck. I have no
- similar compunction about carrying an American Arms PPK copy
- chambered, because it's made of decent materials, and it's a good
- design (licensed from Erma Werke).
-
- I've sold a Jennings 22 before, but only after the buyer promised
- to only use for humanely dispatching captive rabbits -- it was too
- crummy, and too unreliable for self-defense.

- Clayton E. Cramer {uunet, pyramid}!optilink!cramer My opinions, all mine!
- We could say that Congress spends money like drunken sailors. But that would
- be unfair -- to the sailors. They, at least, are spending their own money.
