- # Assuming that a person does NOT possess a firearm, what it the best
- # approach for dealing with a stranger at the door at 11PM?
-
- If you DO posess a firearm, it's important that it not be seen until
- (& unless) needed. I've only recieved late nite door knocks at
- my home twice - it was the local PD each time (routine stuff like
- "just thought you should know some kids drenched shaving cream on your
- can and you may want to wash it off before it dries" or "Your
- car rolled out of the drieveway into the street".) If I answered the
- door gun-in-hand, the LEAST trouble I could expect is loss of the
- gun & license. If I answered a late nite call unprotected, the worst
- I could expect is violent death (p=very low, but not non-zero).
