- I've recently been having problems with my table ferns. I planted a number of
- different subspecies in a 35gal terrarium (to keep the cats out), but they all
- seem to be dying/have died. They look like there is either an absence of
- humitidy (not possible, the tank is almost totally enclosed and I'm misting
- them with distilled water every day) or being underwatered, since the leaves
- are all shrivelling up at the tips, making their way down the plant, and
- finally killing the whole plant. The soil has never gotten drier than
- "slightly moist", and I have a birdsnest fern and a peace lily doing fine in
- there as well. Is it possible to overwater ferns? What else could I be doing
- wrong? They're being fertilized with standard indoor plant fertilizer every 3
- weeks, and they have a bright east exposure and a fluorescent lamp up top.
-
- Anybody have any idea why they're dying? Please email me.
