  12. Another Xmas tree alternative that my in-laws used for several years was
  13. to construct a wire frame covered with pine cones scavenged from the
  14. forests.  You've got the pine, and you haven't cut a tree.  You can make
  15. it any size you want to collect enough cones for.  And it could be
  16. collapsible to store in a big plastic bag for next year.
