- Last year my 3 huge oak trees shed so many acorns in the fall, that
- we were rolling down the driveway and covering our heads outside.
- Falling from 100 - foot plus heights, they made dents in the cars
- and quite a racket for weeks.
- This year almost none! It was a damp cool summer. Gypsy moths were
- less of a problem than usual and the trees seem healthy. I'm wondering
- what factors determine acorn formation in a given year.
