- Within the past year I moved into a new home that has
- a lovely camellia with pale pink blossoms. It looks
- very healthy and is in a good spot for its needs (part
- shade, protected from wind). Unfortunately, it has the
- dreaded petal blight (or so it seems from descriptions
- I've found in several gardening books). What I didn't
- find was what causes it. The only advice I could come
- up with was removing the brown blossoms (on a 6 ft. plant
- -- that's no small feat) and replacing the mulch - which
- I did. But is there anything else? It's disappointing
- to see all those flowers discolor so quickly, and, besides,
- I'm tired of plucking.
-
- Any information or ideas would be appreciated.
