- I've been able to identify some of the things I do when playing
- Columns, but I really don't know how I survive over a long period of
- time.
-
- The main thing seems to be: I can place almost every column to get rid
- of three or more jewels no matter how fast the game goes. It seems
- like the game's parameters make it always possible to do this, even if
- you don't carefully plan how you place your columns. So this tactic
- is enough to play forever. And this is just a matter of training your
- perception/pattern/memory machinery.
-
- Curiously enough, Columns skill doesn't transfer to Klax. I can't
- play Klax very well, and a very good Klax player here can't play
- Columns very well. The basic ideas behind the games are similar, but
- the games are very different and require very different skills.
