- Well, SFIII is really called Street Fighter II CE "The Accelerator" and it
- has made its appearance at the Broadway Arcade @51st&Broadway here in NYC.
- What you have heard about the range attacks is true. The slow fireballs
- (ie. Ken/Ryu/Sagat/Dhalsim) and Guile's sonic boom do travel in different
- directions. To be specific:
- Slow: Travels very slowly in a linear direction. After throwing one, your
- character is free to continue moving and attacking.
- Medium: Travels fast in an upward direction (aiming toward the head).
- Fast: Travels extremely fast in a downward direction (aiming toward the feet)
-
- Besides this, "The Accelerator" allows characters to attack at different
- levels. In otherwords, there is no longer the concept of "ground level".
- If you use the TV monitor for reference, you can actually have your character
- be off the screen and making attack moves. You also can hit characters that
- are off the screen (usually with an uppercut). Sounds messed up? Yes, it is
- but the changes have created a whole new game really. All the old rules in
- SFII CE are off!
-
- One bad thing though, cheesing is a lot easier now and defending it is a lot
- harder.
