  11. Well.... I finally made it.  I can now stand proudly with all the other
  12. people on this newsgroup.
  13. Darwin the Archaeologist ascended with 2278588 points, at level 25.
  14. (Hit n now if you don't want to hear more gloating... =)

  16. Just a brief overview of my stuff/stats-
  17. +8 rustproof Snickersnee-Got it on level 1, by sacrificing a goblin.
  18. *smile*.  Took a while to rustproof, but after that sinks were
  19. loads o' fun.
  20. +3 speed boots
  21. +2 fedora-had this from the start
  22. +3 gray dragon scale mail
  23. +2 leather gloves
  24. +2 cloak of displacement- this was in the armor room of the castle,
  25. so I didn't have to use a wish....
  26. +3 small shield
  27. ring of levitation, ring of protection +4 (two of them)
  28. luckstone
  29. 33 gems, assorted types (including 2 dilithium)
  30. Level 25, 202 hp (whee... I like nurses), AC -34 (and priests)
  31. All intristics, more or less
  32. 88141 moves.  Is that good?
  33. Stuff I never did see-
  34. More than one priest (but that one priest was rich, let me tell ya)
  35. a blindfold.  It sucked, but I was stuck using a wand of lighting
  36. to blind myself.  There this bug, see.... you can engrave
  37. with a wand of lightning that's at 0 charges and never use it up... =)
  38. any sort of magic gauntlets.  So I had leather gloves.
  39. A ring of conflict or a wand of polymorph.  Yep.  Sucks, don't it?
  40. So I made it through w/out two of the biggest cheats/spoilers/whatever....
  41. Just a few thoughts-Magic traps are reeeeal nice.  Got my charisma
  42. up to 18 that way.  Plus, whever you feel charismatic on a trap, you 
  43. might tame a monster that's nearby.  Another thought-watch out if
  44. you're running from the Wiz and he is cursing you, look at your unicorn
  45. horn before you apply it.... ack.  Got sick and had to waste
  46. a wish on a potion of holy water. I found enough altars there, that
  47. it was really better to be able to id gems than blessed/cursed state.
  48. None of the demon lords were that tough, either.  I skipped
  49. most of them, but dispater and jubilex were no prob.
  50. Being lawful is good, but having dwarfs be peaceful is really, really annoying.
  51. I had soo many levels that were just piles o rocks.
  52. Stupid mistakes-
  53. I finally got fed up with the wiz chasing me, and decided to freeze the guy.
  54. But I spelled paralysis wrong, and ended up with a different potion.
  55. Wasted a wish there....  
  56. Other than that, it was a pretty easy run.  Major problem with the wiz
  57. was I kept being surrounded by a strange force and tossed downstairs
  58. when I was in hell.  Once I left, it stopped tho.  ANyone know why?
  59. I never did see Double Trouble or "Destroy the thief, my pets" though....
  60. Hmm... Guess I'll stop bragging now =)
  61. Just one more thing-
  62. if you're in a situation where stuff might get cursed, put the ring
  63. you want to be able to take off on your *left* finger.  That way if your
  64. sword gets cursed, you can still remove the ring.  Actually, having a 
  65. ring of levitation being cursed is no fun either.  Luckily I had a lot of food
  66. in my BoH, but it was still close....
