  17. For a starting wizard, I'd *never* wish for gray dragon scale mail.  Look,
  18. the only reason you wanted gray was so you could have magic resistance,
  19. right?  And a starting wizard already has magic resistance!  Best to go
  20. for another dragon intrinsic.  I'd take *black* dragon scale mail.

  22. Yeah, yeah, flame breath, I've heard all the arguments about cloak of
  23. displacement & gray dragon scale mail vs. cloak of magic resistance &
  24. black dragon scale mail, but in my playing experience, I've found:

  26.     1) if you don't cheat or do "abuses", you can't always count on
  27.        getting everything you need
  28.     2) magic resistance and disintegration resistance are *mandatory*
  29.        intrinsics, and displacement is not (actually, I'm usually
  30.        invisible and so heavily protected by the time I hit the
  31.        castle, I don't even miss displacment if I don't have it).

  33. Covering your mandatory intrinsics first leaves you greater flexibility
  34. later in the game.  I *always* want more things than there are wishes for
  35. in the castle's WoW.
