  27. If you have a cockatrice corpse and a pair of gloves handy, you might
  28. wield the corpse and whack him over the head with it.  If you have a
  29. ring of polymorph control and some method to polymorph yourself, you
  30. might change into a nymph and simply steal the Amulet from him.
  31. Neither of these will keep him from following you, however.

  33. If you throw a potion of paralysis at him, then leave the level before
  34. he recovers, he will be unable to follow you.  Make sure you get the
  35. Amulet first, though.  This feature will probably be taken out of
  36. version 3.1, so don't rely on it too much.
