- I usually don't like to repost things just to correct mistakes, but I
- really botched this one in my last post. My thinking was right but my
- editing was terrible.
-
- OK, if they lead a trump, win it, ace of hearts, ace of spades, heart
- ruff, KQ of spades pitching a diamond, spade ruff (which they cannot
- overruff), heart ruff, ace of diamonds and concede a diamond; now
- your hand is high. If spades are 5-2 and they ruff the queen you can
- fall back on the diamond finesse.
-
- On a spade lead, win the king and continue essentially as above.
-
- On a diamond lead, I'd take the finesse immediately; if it loses, win any
- return and continue essentially as above.
-
- On a heart lead, you're practically cold. Win, ace of spades, heart
- ruff, king of spades, ruff a spade, heart ruff. You still have a
- trump left in dummy, so you can draw trumps and get to dummy with the
- diamond ace to pitch another diamond on the spade queen.
