- In the vein of Ian's suggestion, I'd suggest trying the Ukrainian restaurant at
- Ukrainian National Home (it's inside the building, in back) between 7th street
- and St. Marks Place (located where 8th street would've been). The varenyky, or
- "pirogi" are probably the most authentic in a NY restaurant that I've come
- across. Of course, I am comparing them to a much higher standard, namely my
- grandmother's. Her vernyky were perfection themselves. If I only had the
- recipe (not found in any cookbook), sigh...
