- Actually, Bisquick has a lot of fat in it (though they just put out a
- reduced fat version). In any case, here is how to make "Bisquick"
- from scratch:
-
- 10 cups flour
- 1/3 cup baking powder
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 2 cups shortening
-
- 1. sift dry ingredients in large bowl
- 2. using two knives, pastry blender, or a food processor, add
- shortening in spoonfuls and cut it till the mixture has the texture of
- coarse cornmeal (watch carefully if using food processor).
-
- This will keep for 6 months in dry weather. Keep in fridge in wet
- weather for longer life.
