- You say you put big round hay bales in your pastures for winter?
- Don't they mold? Are they covered? Our Army saddle club, every
- once in a while wants to put these bales in our pastures. We've
- always had a split among owners, half who want them and half who
- don't. So we end up with 2 pastures with bales and 2 without.
- The round bales look black and yucky after a week out in the
- weather and I've never wanted my horse touching the stuff. True,
- we've not had any horses colic that we could blame on the round
- bales, but I toss ANY small bale that smell musty or "dusts" when
- I open it or has black areas in it.
