  12. My suggestion is that you buy a horse first.  I compete in Western pleasure 
  13. futurities (AQHA), and am assuming that if you were at the Congress, you 
  14. too want to show at that level.   A horse that is going to be able to 
  15. compete in Amat. Western Pleasure (or Novice) is going to cost between
  16. 8 to 20 thousand dollars, depending on how competitive you want to be.
  17. (Of course I am sure there are horses who are being shown who were 
  18. purchased for less, but I am talking about the norm.)  If you can afford
  19. the horse and the board and the showing costs (training, tack, outfits),
  20. I say forget the mortgage for now !  You are only 25, and have plenty
  21. of time to get your own barn!!

  24. it.  And...I was pleased to read you want to show Western Pleasure.
