  17. I'd like to thank everyone who has given me input onto this.

  19. The general concensus of opinion is "Don't get a horse!", -But- *DO*
  20. join a stable, go to ride-meets, talk to people, learn about horses,
  21. and in a year or two THEN you'll be ready to take one on full time.

  25. In fact, one young lady has invited me to visit her riding association!   :-)

  27. I was under the impression that they were about the same as owning
  28. a dog or cat. Don't laugh too hard... I see horses all around my
  29. place, that just stand out in a small corral, day after day, looking
  30. bored to death. I assumed they required ZERO maintenance because I've
  31. never seen anyone pay them any mind. It really hurts to see an animal
  32. treated like this.

  34. One day, I'd like to be able to take in some of those old timers, show
  35. them some love and affection, and make their final days pleasant.
