  12. My mom took a quilting class a few years ago and
  13. has since made all of us kids (9 in all) quilts 
  14. (log cabin pattern) for our birthdays.  She made
  15. an extra two squares from each quilt and put them
  16. together into a quilt for herself - it's pretty
  17. wild looking, since we all have different tastes
  18. in color combinations, etc.  Anyway, this has caused
  19. the entire family to become quilt crazy.  Two of my 
  20. sisters and 2 nieces are quilting, and Mom and one 
  21. sister have some things for sale in a local shop.

  23. Once I learn to sew a bit better :-) I'll get around to this...

  25. A maple leaf quilt, using a bright blue for all the background 
  26. pieces.  My plan is to use 4 blocks for each season, each in 
  27. a different color.  Winter would be white, grey, a clear blue 
  28. and maybe a tan.  Spring would be pastel green, yellow, and 
  29. maybe lilac and pink.  Summer would be a variety of deep/dark greens 
  30. (or maybe seashore colors?) and Autumn would be reds, golds and 
  31. oranges.  I was inspired by some wonderful Jinny Beyer fabrics 
  32. printed with ivy leaves (the green is in my quilt), but I think they 
  33. have all been discontinued since I saw them.  (That's what I get for
  34. not buying them right away!)  But any leafy patterned fabric would do.

  36. I've also taken quite a liking to the pine tree block - maybe
  37. I could combine the two somehow.

  39. But first I've got to finish the x-stitch baby quilt (for the baby 
  40. who's 6 months old already), the teddy bear with bib for the baby 
  41. who's not here yet and the christmas stockings that I've been working 
  42. on for too many years to count and ...
