- BTW, I just had a moderately successful day at the St Kilda salt fields.
- Plenty of waders down from both America and Asia (sharp-tailed, common,
- marsh and curlew sandpipers, grey tailed tattler, avocets, white headed
- stilts, &c &c) and some interesting natives, too, like a huge flock of
- pink-eared duck. Also lots of common stuff, like black swans, coots,
- native hens, pelicans, cormorants, egrets, herons, and so forth. Nice day
- all round. The place is a must for any visiting birder, esp. in summer.
