- All waste from human activity in National Park Service caves
- must be packed out. This includes all trips. Bottles are used
- to carry out urine, and the classis "cave-burrito" for taking
- out solid waste. There are no designated areas in any National
- Park Service backcountry cave (including Lechuguilla, Jewel,
- Wind, or 'wild' sections of Carlsbad) that allow for the dumping
- of human waste. I believe this policy is described in the National
- Park Service Resource Management Policy Guide (Section 3 describes
- cave resource management).
