- The terms "hunter" and "climber" are grossly misused by the news media.
- Simply buying a rifle and a license doesn't make you a hunter, nor does
- hauling a rope up a rock face make you a climber. Chances are the "hunter"
- didn't aim at his partner, merely shot at a sound in the bushes. More people
- do this during deer season that you might imagine. And it's usually not a
- single shot, but a rapid sequence of shots from a semi-automatic, high-powered
- rifle (slugs in a shotgun for some states). I did a little small game
- subsistence hunting in Hoosier National Forest when in graduate school at IU.
- Occasionally, I saw some mind boggling things.
