- Having to get permits/tickets for non-wilderness National Forests would
- remove what I consider to be their principal advantage: the freedom to
- pretty much just go when you want, where you want, and do what you want
- without having to get some kind of approval ahead of time from some
- authority.

- Also, there's a potentially annoying tactical problem. Unlike National
- Parks, many National Forests have dozens of entry points, but maybe only
- one office that might be 2 hours drive on the opposite side from where
- you're going. I doubt they're going to set up large numbers of
- conveniently placed ticket booths.
