  18. Check the squadron out carefully.  I was interested in joining a local
  19. squadron.  I attended a few meetings, and based on what I heard, decided
  20. that it was not prudent to entrust my life to the aircraft they were
  21. flying.  Their maintenance standards and mine were just too far apart.

  23. I've spoken to CAP members from other areas and they've told me that my
  24. experience is atypical, but not unheard of.
