- Check the squadron out carefully. I was interested in joining a local
- squadron. I attended a few meetings, and based on what I heard, decided
- that it was not prudent to entrust my life to the aircraft they were
- flying. Their maintenance standards and mine were just too far apart.

- experience is atypical, but not unheard of.
