- I have had my '87 Jetta GL since it was 18months old. It has been
- the *BEST* car that I have ever owned.
-
- The only two problems that I have had are: (1) replacement of the
- rear fuel transfer pump; (2) replacement of the right CV joint.
-
- Outside of these things nothing major. I take the car in for twice
- a year checks to a dealer (they found the CV thing..) and I change the
- oil every 3 months - replace plugs and air filter according to the
- manual.
-
- I had what I thought was a problem last night as I was driving
- my 2 year old to Gymboree class. Whenever I turned left, the horn
- went off.
-
- Well my son thought it was a gas (he laughed every time it went off)
- but the people in the quiet church parking lot I pulled into wondered
- what the hell the guy in the Jetta was doing (one guy gave me the
- one finger salute 8-))...it turned out that one of my keys was lodged
- in the gap between the sterring wheel and the column..
-
- Well, I can not say enought about my Jetta...103K Kilometers and
- still ticking...
