  14. Our 24,000 / 2 year just ended.  Here is a list of the warrantee work
  15. done to date:

  17. rear axle replaced - grossly out of spec
  18. idle switch replaced
  19. throttle switch replaced
  20. front grill repainted (out coating of paint peeled off)
  21. clock replaced
  22. 1 window motor replaced
  23. 2 window regulators replaced
  24. ventalation fan replaced
  25. ventalation vent replaced
  26. grounds at cylinder head tightened (came off assembly line loose)
  27. washer jet replaced
  28. door handle replaced
  29. front (plastic) grill replaced
  30. Windshield wiper arm replaced
  31. passenger light casing replaced
  32. foot/door panel replaced (kept popping off)
  33. fuse box lid replaced
  34. trunk lid adjusted (would hit body)
  35. lots of service work to get rid of noises in dashboard
  36. RY Recal (engine monitoring computer)

  38. I have been to the dealer 20 times in the last two years (including
  39. regular service visits).  My wife and I LOVE the car.  There is
  40. nothing else like it for the money on the market. Nothing. But we are
  41. concerned about future maintainance costs now that the warrantee is
  42. up.

  44. I'm dissapointed in VW.  This car was manufactured with poor quality
  45. control.  My question is:  IS THIS NORMAL???  This was our first VW
  46. and might be our last.
