- I've had problems with two older cars in the last couple months
- that cleared up completely by replacing condenser.
-
- Symptoms:
-
- 1. car starts running badly, missing , losing power, backfires.
- 2. eventually won't start.
-
- I go thru bonehead troubleshooting:
- 1. check distributer, points, etc for wear, gap, etc.
- 2. check for spark at plug.
- 3. pour a little fuel in carbuerator to see if it'll at least catch.
- (possible fuel line clog)
- No Go.
-
- Replace condenser, starts right up, runs like a charm.
-
- What does the condenser at the distributer do? Thanks in advance.
- Email ok if this is FAQ.
