  14.     I recently purchased a 1986 Pontiac Firebird with a V6 2.8l
  15. engine.  The car was leaking oil from the oil pressure switch, but the 
  16. oil pressure gauge was still reading above 40.  I replaced the oil pressure
  17. switch and stopped the leak, but now the oil pressure gauge reads only
  18. around 35 and sometimes it jumps all the way up to 80 (pegged) for only
  19. a fraction of a second and then back to 35.

  21.     I would appreciate anyones insight on this particular problem.
