- I recently purchased a 1986 Pontiac Firebird with a V6 2.8l
- engine. The car was leaking oil from the oil pressure switch, but the
- oil pressure gauge was still reading above 40. I replaced the oil pressure
- switch and stopped the leak, but now the oil pressure gauge reads only
- around 35 and sometimes it jumps all the way up to 80 (pegged) for only
- a fraction of a second and then back to 35.
-
- I would appreciate anyones insight on this particular problem.
-
- Thanks,
-
