-
- PS!@#My 1986 Ford Mustang, 2.3L engine started OK yesterday
-
- !@#by rotating the distributor assembly. The mystery is,
- !@#how did the timing all of a sudden slip way off?
-
- !@#pump which in turn drives the distributor shaft. If it
-
-
- The distributor and oil pump are driven off the same shaft from the
- TIMING belt....not the crank directly.. it is quite likely that the
- belt just slipped on the pump/dist. pulley. If the timing belt hasn't
- been replaced in the last 50,000 miles then do it! because next time it
- won't just be a loss of power....it will be a no start engine.
- Take care,
- don
