  29. I can't say for sure whether or not you're right, but it wouldn't surprise
  30. me in the least.  The issue of small-volume specialty cars is a very different
  31. case from most.  On the XJS, Ford may have found that the money it saved by
  32. not retooling and redesigning the drivetrain made up for the indignity of
  33. having a GM transmission.  Besides, car companies can be very friendly and
  34. businesslike.  Look at the Mercedes 500E.  That car's more than half built by
  35. Porsche!

  37. Wasn't there a car in the '60s (I want to say the Cobra but i know that's not
  38. it) that was owned by Chrysler but had a Ford engine or vice versa?
