  41. What has probably happened is that your battery's positive post has
  42. liquefied.  Yep, that's right _LIQUEFIED._  To check for this, simply grab
  43. the positive cable and give it a fairly solid yank and/or twist.  Chances are
  44. that it will come off in your hand.

  46. I know this happens because it happened to my truck about 5 years ago.  I
  47. went out one morning to start it, and I didn't even get the "brake" light.
  48. (no check engine light... the truck is 15 years old...)  We got it to the
  49. shop and the positive battery cable/post came off in the mechanics hand.  We
  50. looked closer, and what was supposed to be the positive post was nothing but
  51. a pasty substance that we couldn't identify.

  53. The only fix is to plunk down the cash for a new battery.
