  13. I recently did a carb conversion on a '77 Spitfire 1500.  
  14. Installed was a Weber downdraft kit.  That is, carb and 
  15. manifold combo.  The little bugger runs like I've never 
  16. seen a Spitfire run before.  The kit was from Victoria
  17. in Kansas and cost about $420. It wonderful.  Dare I say 
  18. it?  Yea, I will. It idles like a good ole' Chevy 327...

  20. The problem on the SU's sounds like a vacuum leak at the 
  21. inlet manifold gasket or somewhere allied to that system.
