- I have a Chrysler 383 that I would like to rebuild as a project this
- Winter. I am looking for recommendations of books and/or kits that
- might be able to provide me with some helpful hints, particularly with
- regards to reassembly.
-
- I have the Mopar Engine book and one called _Engine Blueprinting_, but
- although they are very good at telling you what to do, they do not
- always say how to go about doing it, or in what order. For example,
- when putting the crank back in, I know that rapping the end with a
- mallet will help to seat it correctly, but none of my books mention
- this. They are structured by system, but do not cover the procedure
- for a complete rebuild.
-
- Drop me a line if you know of a good step-by-step rebuilding how-to
- manual (preferably a specific title), and/or a kit (like a gasket kit)
- that you have found to be very helpful. I'm planning on keeping this
- one very stock, i.e., replace as few parts as possible. If I get this
- one right, maybe I'll try a few performance mods next time (if there
- *is* a next time). Thanks.
