- Cheever hasn't won an openwheel race since 1979 during his F2 days with
- Osella. In 1986 he won sportscar races with the TWR Jaguar team. Earlier
- in his F2 days, he was a championship leader at one point against the

- in F1. Only once did he have a teammate that was able to win a race and
- that was Alain Prost and Cheever never got the same equipment as Prost.
- Given that, I think you could safely say he has driven almost (if not all of)
- his entire F1 career in cars that were not capable of winning. Other drivers
- that have never won in F1 include Alesi, Brundle, DeCesaris, Fabi, and
- Warwick. Have they done nothing in F1 too?
