- I am helping a friend to modify his Leak stereo 50 valve power amps. He
- bought these recently and the previous owner had done some changes (Mostly
- not the ones I would have done). One change I am unsure about is the
- coupling caps from the phase splitter to the two output valves (KT66s).
- These are marked "Wima Durolit 0.22 630V". Can anyone tell me what type
- these are (poly-propylene/-ester/-styrene etc) and whether they are any
- good. Coupling to the phase splitter was changed to some cheap, modern
- polyesters so I'm not sure whether the Wimas are original or whether the
- previous modifier(s) were inconsistent in coupling capacitor choice.
