  15. I am looking for a starter system and am thinking about NAD components and Tannoy
  16. speakers.  
  17. Specifically:
  18. NAD 2100X 2x60W Power Amp
  19. NAD 1600 Preamp/tuner
  20. NAD 5000 CD Player
  21. Tannoy 603 speakers
  22. The local shop quoted me a price of $1170 for the NAD components and I am
  23. getting the Tannoy for $250 from a mail-order shop.  I also plan to add a
  24. Velodyne F-1000 subwoofer later on.
  25. Any comments on the above selection?  Does anyone have any experience with NAD
  26. power amps? How do they compare with other budget amps (adcom 535, parasound
  27. HP 800, B&K ST 120, etc)?  I am looking for clarity and musicality, since my low
  28. end will be handled by the Velodyne sub.
