- Has anyone heard anything about the new Mini-Disc (MD) coming to car
- stereos. There are so many advantages to MDs:
-
- 1) Smaller (2.5" sqare) discs
- 2) Scratch-proof cover (like a 3.5" computer disk)
- 3) Recordable
- 4) Non-skipping (most players have a 10 second memory, so you'd have to
- go over 10 seconds of HARSH - enough to make the player unable to read
- any data - bumps before it started skipping)
-
- Considering that the portable, recording units have an introductory
- price around $700, I think that pretty soon car units will be available
- for substantially less than that.
