  23. First of all, I am for a car alarm discussion.

  25. Second, I agree with the person who says that car alarms are basically useless.
  26. The only car alarm system I like is the one that is silent, and does something
  27. like Lo-Jack or what I like, MagnaVolt.

  29. I used to go to a high school where car alarms went off every day in the
  30. parking lot.  Cars were stolen in broad daylight, because of the
  31. many, many false alarms.  One car's alarm would go off all the time if
  32. somebody pushed down on the car a quarter of an inch.  The only car
  33. alarms that do not go off in my experience are factory-installed,
  34. passive ones, like on the Nissan Maxima, Toyota Camry, or the Toyota
  35. Supra.  I prefer an alarm with a starter kill and the buzzer inside
  36. the car, but a siren does nothing.

  38. My favorite alarm is the one in the old James Bond movie, break in,
  39. BOOM! :-)
