- I just called Crutchfield hoping to get some information on Proton, and
- boy did I ever. Here's the scoop: Proton is dropping their car audio
- line, which is why Crutchfield is carrying their equipment at such low
- prices. Crutchfield is sold out of the 271 passive eq/crossover, and
- they are also sold out of the CA-490 amplifier. However, two of the
- CA-490's were returned in the 30 day free trial period; they tested
- them, and they checked out as brand new, and so they're selling them as
- new, but discounted an additional $20. I bought one of them - the
- 2/3/4 channel, 30x2/60x2 (or 60x2/120x1), 100dB S:N CA-490 - for the
- bargain basement discount price of $179. There's just *one* left in
- case any of you want to buzz Crutchfield...
-
- After I get it installed (with my new 14 ga. StreetWires!), I'll let
- everyone know how it sounds, etc.
