  13. I don't know if this has been said or not, but, according to an article I
  14. read in either StarLog or a info file, B-5 was filming and ready to go
  15. before DS9 started. The only reason it is being shown after the premiere
  16. of DS9 is because they want it to be concurrent with the other shows
  17. that are on the new warner brother network.

  19.     I know this doesn't mean that ideas couldn't have been stolen, but
  20. I wonder if this would be a question if B5 had come out first, or if
  21. people would be questioning DS9 instead.

  23.     Also, according to the same articles, B5 already has a 5-8 year
  24. storyline already set up, indicating that a lot of creative work
  25. has gone into it as an orginal idea, and that the tone of B-5 is entirely
  26. diffrent that Star Trek, taking on a much darker and 'realistic' view
  27. of the future than Star Trek. I've heard that the unofficial motto
  28. of B5 is "No Cute Kids or Robots...ever."

  30.     But, besides the above, don't you think we should wait and SEE it 
  31. first, BEFORE we past judgement on it? Remember everyones reaction to
  32. the idea of Star Trek:TNG trying to take the place of Star Trek? Personally,
  33. I'm looking forward to seeing (hopefully) another quality Science Fiction
  34. show out there - I love Star Trek, but variety (and a little bit of competition)will spice things up. :)
