  14. I've been following this thread haphazardly for awhile and am surprised by
  15. some of the comments and the general feeling emanating from the participants -
  16. in my experience it is a pleasure to stumble upon poetry written in other
  17. languages (with or without translation) and I'd hate to see r.a.p. lose
  18. that special kind of contribution.  All work is relevant, however much one
  19. might ignore some styles in favor of others, and creating separate
  20. newsgroups for one culture or another, or for a specific style/genre/etc,
  21. will ultimately make this group not worth reading.

  23. Diversity is a wonderful thing to be strived for, not a detriment to be
  24. avoided.  The creation of an Urdu poetry newsgroup is necessary if
  25. enough people want it but please, before taking such a step, try to post/
  26. discuss and see what happens...some people may not like it but, hey, I'm
  27. not about to try to get a "post-modern" poetry group started just because
  28. that's my personal preference!
