  31. As with Barry Williams, being British, I have always watched Dr Who.
  32. My Dad has watched it religeously since 1963. So, every Saturday
  33. evening at 5:15, Dr Who would be on the TV in our home. I must have
  34. been watching it even as a tiny tot, though I obviously have little
  35. recollection of this. My earliest recollections of the programme
  36. must be from The Curse of Peladon (when I was two years old).
  37. Beyond that, I remember very small snippets up until the end of the
  38. Jon Pertwee era.

  40. What really got me well and truly hooked though was the Dr Who magazine,
  41. launched as the Dr Who Comic in 1979. It provided so much extra
  42. information, filling in the gaps in my memory, that I became a devoted 
  43. fan overnight.

  45. As an aside, I still have a collection of Doctor Who memorabilia in 
  46. my parents loft: Doctor Who comic (all issues), Doctor Who Monthly
  47. (frokm the start upto about issue 120 I think - I'd have to check),
  48. about sixty novelisations (of which about twenty are original issues
  49. with Chris Achilleos artwork) and a stack of autographed postcards
  50. (Tom Baker, Pat Troughton, Janet Fielding, Sarah Sutton and Mark
  51. Strickson).
