- In the last few weeks of watching Dr. Who I've seen the following quote
- (and variations of it) used in several Dr. Who stories:
-
- "I'm going out now and may be some time"
-
- This was said by an explorer before leaving his group on his own and
- getting to be the first person to either the north or south poles, right?
- (pardon my ignorance, I'm US educated :-) ).
-
- The stories are:
- Planet of Evil (when the Doctor leaves the control center for the last
- time to deal with the monster Professor)
- Nightmare of Eden (when the Doctor is leading all the Mandril's back
- into the crystal)
- Earthshock (when the doctor goes out into the caves to cool off after
- his argument with Adric)
-
- Can anyone think of any other stories where a variation of this quote appeared?
- Can anyone give me a reference for the quote? (I'm probably mangling it)
-
- Please email any responses to me and I'll summarise...
