  34. No, every opinion is valid.  That doesn't mean I can't argue with them.  It
  35. also doesn't mean that every opinion is equally valid.  For example, being
  36. of the opinion that cyanide is good food is obviously pretty low on the
  37. accuracy scale.  Being of the opinion that Sarah was an idiot is valid, but
  38. I don't think it's all that accurate.

  45. Um, sorry, but "facts" were conspicuous by their absence in that debate. 
  46. And, see, even if you *had* cited facts, the truth is that factual argument
  47. works well to contradict a declarative opinion (e.g. "Sarah Jane is an
  48. imbecile") but it doesn't do much to a subjective opinion (e.g. "I hate
  49. Ace").  Whereas you have to support a statement like "X is Y," you don't
  50. always *have* a factual basis for "I hate Z".  There's a difference
  51. there...just think hard.
