- Ace reminds me of a friend of mine, that's why I like her. She has
- overcome most of her emotional screwups with grit and determination
- (at least by the time of "Nightshade") and she is a strong, admirable
- character, originally one of life's walking wounded, now a true hero.

- And yes, I do think she has the most interesting character in Doctor
- Who. Compare her to the Master (who I'm constantly expecting to
- see tying wenches to railway lines).

- Apart from Romana she's the only character I can admire in Doctor
- Who (aside from the mid-period Doctor).

- At the beginning and in the most recent time, the Doctor is an antihero,
- which is why we need characters like Ian, Barbara and Ace to be our
- representatives. Anyone can see that.
