- Issue one of DWM's sister publication emerged last week and I've got to say I
- enjoyed it. It featured two complete Pertwee stories and the first 4 eps of a
- third. The artwork was very good, and for the majority of the time the Doctor
- did look like Pertwee, much better than some of the recent McCoy likenesses,
- although the new Sontaran strip in DWM looks very promising.
-
- The first story was the Gemini Plan which was pretty interesting, and I
- suspect it influenced The Twin Dilemma in some way too, although probably
- subconciously. The colourisation of the strip seems to have been a great
- success, (assuming it was B&W on first printing). Let's hope the Daemons has
- been done as well. Only four days to go now!!!!
-
- The second story (Timebenders) was interesting too although featured a very
- weak ending. Nice to see such an Enterprising character in there though :-)
- The Doctor travels back to WWII and becomes entangled in a plot by the Nazi's
- to win the war by using modern weapons
-
- The third story is The Vogan Slaves, which seems very promising. The Vogans
- in question are no relation to the Planet of Gold Vogans of Revenge of the
- Cybermen BTW, but they do bear a STRIKING resemblance to Dan Dare's Mekon
- friend. I'm sure the colourers wanted to paint them green instead of the dark
- blue!!!
-
- A couple of nice articles about the creation of Sixties strips and the
- continuation of The Daleks, this seemed a good opener for the series, although
- overpriced at 2.50. (pounds) 7 out of 10. Oh, nice cover by Alistair Pearson.
-
- At last I can start ticking off some more titles in the Terrestial Index.
