- Yes, you are correct, I was very turned off by the acidity of the 6th
- Doctor's portrayal - non-huggable is a good way of describing it. But I
- can see that some of the stories were good - it seemed that CBaker toned
- down abit in the 2 doctors, who's influence that was, I don't know. But
- you must also remember the impression that having the whinny, nasally Peri
- around had on alot of US fans - it really turned them off. I really don't
- like to see someone bouncing around as much as she did without the proper
- support - if you get my drift - it is just too embaressing.
- The fault (if there is any, and that is debatable) could lie anywhere. I
- once heard that CBaker REALLY wanted to be the Doctor - but that the
- portrayal was out of his hands, he had to do it as the script editor,
- producer, director or whoever told him to be abrasive. Not a nice
- situation over there at the Beeb.
- But different strokes for different folks, some people like him, some
- people hate him, so people are indifferent.
