- Well, I ws impressed by Alien 3, despite its startling departure from the
- other two films. Criticisms (e.g. gratuitous use of the word f***, which did
- have some interesting thematic implications, made the last half somewhat
- grating) were not too difficult to overlook, and on the whole it was a
- daring move to end something which could easily have carried on into sequel
- hell. But I agree that the summer was somewhat lame as far as movies go
- (excepting the silly but charming Batman Returns).
